Some stomach drugs need strong warning: FDA
Feb 28, 09 FDA warningsA class of drugs used to treat stomach disorders needs to carry a strong warning about the risk of involuntary, repetitive movements that can appear even after patients stop taking the medicines, U.S. regulators said on Thursday.
The drugs contain the ingredient metoclopramide and are available in a various formulations including tablets, syrups and injections, the Food and Drug Administration said. Makers include Baxter International Inc and other companies.
